Tree Nut Working Group Networking Event

SAPPA forms part of the Tree Nut Working Group (TNWG) and through this platform we collaborate with the other tree nut industries in South Africa to engage with suppliers of plant protection products. The TNWG held a networking event on 1 April that was attended by 77 representatives form plant protection companies. These include biological, organic and chemical suppliers.

During this event each nut industry shared an industry overview, a research overview and the industry needs with attendees. It was a great opportunity to network with representatives and discuss possible solutions to address the needs of our pecan producers. Challenges with regards to new product registrations and the implications of the listing of restricted use chemicals formed part of the day’s discussions.
